Abstract

Jurisprudential principles are a branch of Islamic knowledge that continuously evolve over time, adapting to changing circumstances across different eras. They are considered essential for a comprehensive understanding of Islamic law. These principles can also be effectively utilized to enhance speaking skills. For this reason, the researcher selected this topic, considering it appropriate to use these principles as a means to develop students’ speaking proficiency. This study aims to analyze and elaborate on the jurisprudential principles presented in the book Idhah al-Qawa'id al-Fiqhiyyah, by referring to other works on legal maxims, Arabic dictionaries, and relevant academic research. It also seeks to explore how these principles can be utilized to enhance the speaking skills. The researcher collected jurisprudential principles related to the study’s focus, then analyzed, explained, synthesized, and clarified the associated rulings, supported by evidence from the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic traditions (Sunnah). In addition, the researcher provided practical examples for each principle and included relevant exercises. This research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, which involves describing observable phenomena and the factors influencing them, followed by drawing conclusions that may be generalized. One of the key findings of this study is that the researcher identified and examined 18 jurisprudential principles presented in the book Idhah al-Qawa'id al-Fiqhiyyah. Some of these principles include specific terminologies, definitions, and supporting evidence from the Qur’an and the Sunnah, as well as insights derived from the interpretations of Islamic scholars, They can be utilized to enhance speaking skills by incorporating them into dialogues, transforming them into texts for use in the arts of public speaking and oration, as well as through various practical exercises.
