The Impact of  Intensity in Speech Delivery on Self-Development of Students at STIBA Ar Raayah

Abstract

The Arabic Language College of STIBA Ar-Rayah places great emphasis on the field of da’wah (Islamic propagation). As part of this focus, various da’wah activities are organized on campus, one of which is the Ilqo' Kalimat program. This study aims to describe the Ilqo' Kalimat program in the women’s section of STIBA Ar-Rayah and to determine the extent to which the intensity of listening to speeches influences the self-development of fourth-semester female students at STIBA Ar-Rayah. The method used is explanatory with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through interviews with individuals responsible for the program and by distributing questionnaires to 73 fourth-semester female students. The results indicate that the Ilqo' Kalimat program in the women’s section involves two students delivering speeches in front of their peers, following criteria established by the program organizers. The study also found a positive correlation between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of 0.735. The probability value of 0.000 (below 0.05) indicates that the relationship is statistically significant. Further analysis revealed that listening to speeches contributes 54.1% to changes in self-development, categorized as a moderate relationship. These findings underscore the importance of speeches as an effective medium for self-development.
