Abstract

STIBA Ar-Rayyah is one of the higher education institutions that has succeeded in teaching Arabic, particularly in developing speaking skills (mahārah al-kalām). This success is supported by several factors, one of which is the selection of learning materials tailored to students' needs. One of the courses taught at STIBA Ar-Rayyah is Tadzawuq Lughowy, a newly introduced course for fifth-level students in the Arabic Language Education Department. This research aims to examine the Tadzawuq Lughowy course, which was taught in the 2023/2024 academic year for fifth-level students in the Arabic Language Education Department at STIBA Ar-Rayyah. The study focuses on the course's role in developing speaking skills, its teaching methods, and the supporting factors influencing students' speaking proficiency. To achieve these objectives, the research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires to research samples. The questionnaire results were then analyzed by calculating the percentage of each response to obtain accurate data. The findings reveal that 16.88% of students rated the course as "Good," 36.87% chose "Very Good," and 41.95% selected "Excellent." Meanwhile, 4.39% of students rated it as "Weak," and none chose "Very Weak." Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Tadzawuq Lughowy course plays a significant role in enhancing the speaking skills of fifth-level students in the Arabic Language Education Department at STIBA Ar-Rayyah Sukabumi.
