Abstract

Speaking skill is an art of verbal communication and serves as a means of delivering ideas with the aim of informing, entertaining, or persuading others. The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of micro-teaching on the development of speaking skills among sixth-level female students at Al-Raya University. This study adopts a quantitative research approach. The micro-teaching process for these students consists of three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the analysis of the questionnaire data conducted by the researcher, the results show that micro-teaching has a significant impact on improving speaking skills. The regression equation Y = 3.334 + 0.81X indicates that micro-teaching clearly contributes to enhancing the students’ speaking abilities. The linear regression model explains 49.2% of the variation in speaking skill, which demonstrates the effect of micro-teaching, although other factors also play a role in improving this skill. The coefficient for micro-teaching is statistically significant, while the constant term is not highly significant. It can be concluded that micro-teaching is an effective tool for developing students' speaking skills, as it helps them boost self-confidence, improve pronunciation, and increase fluency—positively reflecting on their ability to communicate in Arabic in both academic and social contexts
