Abstract
This study aims to identify the commonly used vocabulary in the modern era found in the Al-Munawwir Dictionary, based on the List of Common Vocabulary in the Arabic Language (letter "ر"). The researcher conducted this study due to the importance of common Arabic vocabulary, which holds significant value in the field of vocabulary teaching today. This research employed a descriptive-analytical method by collecting common vocabulary from the Al-Munawwir Dictionary according to the List of Common Vocabulary, analyzing their meanings from various dictionaries, and using analytical tools to draw conclusions. The results of the study show that the number of common vocabulary words beginning with the letter "ر" in the Al-Munawwir Dictionary is 168 out of a total of 431 words, while the number of common words in the List of Common Vocabulary for the same letter is 207. These words were then analyzed to determine their meanings. Meanwhile, the number of uncommon words in the Al-Munawwir Dictionary for the letter "ر" is 263. This may reduce the effectiveness of the dictionary’s use, as it includes many outdated and rarely used words in the modern era, which can confuse learners and make understanding and usage more difficult.
