Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using language games in teaching vocabulary derived from the Qur'an to fourth-grade students at Ar-Raayah Islamic Elementary School. Teaching methods play a crucial role in the successful delivery of educational materials. The use of inappropriate teaching methods can hinder the achievement of learning objectives. This research employs a quantitative approach with an analytical ex perimental design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The study involved 22 fourth-grade students during the 2023–2024 academic year. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test (Paired Two Sample for Means) within a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, utilizing Excel software to calculate t and p values (two-tailed), with a significance level of 0.05. Statistical analysis revealed that the use of language games in vocabulary instruction is effective, with a calculated t-value of -7.52 and a p-value of 0.000000218, which is significantly lower than the established significance level of 0.05. This indicates a statistically significant difference. Therefore, the use of language games has proven effective and can be adopted as an enjoyable alternative method in the learning process.
