Abstract

This research aims to study the vocabulary found in the book "Shadha al-‘Urf fi Fann al-Sarf" by compiling words mentioned in lessons related to the masdar (infinitive) and ism al-ma’ful (passive participle) and analyzing them in detail. The research seeks to provide a comprehensive classification of these words, clarifying their various meanings and linguistic uses in multiple contexts, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of their semantics and applications. Additionally, the research explores how to employ these vocabulary items to develop oral expression skills among students at Al-Rayyah University, particularly in daily communication. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach and falls under qualitative research that focuses on collecting data related to meanings, concepts, definitions, and analyzing linguistic characteristics, terms, and phenomena. Accordingly, the vocabulary from lessons covering masdar to ism al-ma’ful in Shadha al-‘Urf fi Fann al-Sarf was compiled and analyzed using Arabic dictionaries and relevant sources, aiming to utilize them in enhancing oral expression skills. The findings reveal that the book "Shadha al-‘Urf fi Fann al-Sarf" contains 94 vocabulary items in lessons from masdar to ism al-ma’ful. The meanings of these words were analyzed by referencing linguistic dictionaries and specialized literature. The research also demonstrates how these vocabulary items can help Al-Rayyah University students improve their oral expression and enable them to use the words effectively in daily speech.
